My life turned upside down in 2009 when I was diagnosed with cancer. After many years and countless operations and complications, I had to be medically boarded in 2016. I could no longer cope with the demands of running a very successful practice as a psychologist and the demands of my fluctuating state of health, both physical and mental. I could no longer be fully present for my patients or fully present to take care of myself. I had to make one of the hardest choices of my life. I had to choose me. After many, many months of struggling with the loss of my practice and the loss of my "identity" in a way, and with a great deal of help from my extraordinary husband, my loving friends and family and the amazing professional medical team I have around me, I made the decision to seriously take up my life-long love of photography. I have a patient and loving teacher who has never given up on my initial flailing attempts to learn properly and has taught me and continues to teach me so well.

I am a Visual Storyteller. I take photos of things that touch my heart and/or soul in some way.  I love the simplicity of things - the color of sunlight on autumn leaves, the way the sea crashes against rocks, the beauty of clouds at sunset, raindrops lingering on roses, the beauty of black and white, reflections - you will see this in all my photographs. Some of my photographs are simple photographs - but most of them are combined with digital art forms in various styles, so they look more like paintings than photographs. All my photographs tell a story, a story seen through my eyes.

I sometimes  play with photographs by adding in paint techniques, hand drawn colors, sandpapering them, painting over them, drawing on them, so they are changed from the original to something unique to me.

I have also dabbled in transferring photos onto wood, which you can look at under the Mixed Media Collection. It is very time consuming and so I don't do it often.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and did in taking them and then making them unique to me.

New photos will be added as time goes by, so keep coming back!!!

I came across this quote, which I thought was rather moving, so I'm going to add it here. I don't know who wrote it.

"I'm an artist and when you buy from me, you are buying hundreds of hours of failures and experiments. You are buying a piece of my heart and soul, a moment in my life"
